The Judgement of Singapore will take place from 2 to 4 October, marking 50 years since the historic 1976 Judgment of Paris. While inspired by that landmark moment in wine history, organisers have emphasised that the Singapore event is not intended as a re-enactment, but rather as a fresh examination of how leading wine styles have evolved over the past half-century.

At the centre of the judging panel will be Collectible Vintage founder Ronan Sayburn MS, CEO of the Court of Master Sommeliers Europe, alongside Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, former editor-in-chief of The Wine Advocate.

The blind tasting will see 24 wines assessed — 12 Chardonnays and 12 Cabernet Sauvignons — selected from established Old World and New World producers and drawn primarily from the 2019 vintage.

Sayburn and Perrotti-Brown will be joined by 12 other leading international judges, including Dr Jackie Ang MW of Singapore, Julien Boulard MW MS, wine content creator Hanna Kiessel, and William Wouters, president of the international sommelier association ASI.

The judging itself will take place behind closed doors, with the final results to be announced publicly on 4 October.
